TUTTA Tobago officer Bradon Roberts shares concerns about school repairs.
Scarborough, Tobago – While many schools across the country re-opened yesterday after the July/August holiday, some were not totally ready for the new school term. Bradon Roberts, the Tobago Officer for the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA), noted that the union had submitted a list of issues to the Division of Education, Research and Technology in April.
The union had hoped these issues would have been solved in time for the re-opening of schools. Roberts’ comments highlight the ongoing challenges with school infrastructure and maintenance, which continue to impact the start of the academic year for both students and teachers.
