Scarborough, Tobago – As access to foreign exchange becomes increasingly challenging nationwide, the Tobago Business Chamber has criticized the government for ignoring potential solutions.
Chairman Martin George highlighted that one key solution is repealing the Land License Act. This act requires foreign investors to undergo extensive approvals and bureaucracy before they can invest in Tobago, a process he believes is hindering the flow of foreign investment and, by extension, foreign currency into the island’s economy. The Chamber’s call underscores a push to streamline regulations and make Tobago a more attractive destination for international business.
