Fishermen calling for rehabilitation of Blackrock/Plymouth facility.
Scarborough, Tobago – The fishermen who utilize the Plymouth/Black Rock fish facility are raising serious concerns over the dilapidated condition of their depot’s structure.
One fisherman shared that a sewer constructed within the vicinity of the facility has been running water that, according to him, is affecting the fish supply. In addition to this, he highlighted concerns over the safety of the fisherfolk, noting that they have been falling ill. He pointed out that stagnant water on the premises is an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes, which are a frequent problem in the building. Fishermen operating within the facility are now calling on the authorities to urgently address and fix these critical health and infrastructure issues.
