For many Trinbagonians, reaching the age of 65 is a milestone that grants access to well-deserved benefits like an old-age pension. However, recent bills introduced in Trinidad and Tobago’s Parliament, along with proposed amendments, may complicate access to this essential grant commonly called old-age pension. At the UNC’s cottage meeting on Monday, Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar raised concerns, warning that these new provisions would make it more challenging for those who depend on the grants to receive the assistance they need.
