Murder number 12 in Tobago

Scarborough, Tobago – Tobago, once regarded as a peaceful and crime-free haven, has tragically recorded its 12th murder for 2024. The victim, Desiree Laurence, originally from Trinidad, succumbed to her injuries following a violent attack on Thursday night.

According to police reports, around 9:30 PM, three men aged 34, 38, and 45 were at a birthday celebration on Robert Street, Mt Pleasant, when three armed assailants appeared on foot and opened fire on the group in the yard. This fatal incident underscores the escalating crime concerns on the island.
