Ministry Of Transport And Civil Aviation Proactive Road Safety Drivers Rehab Programme Set For Tobago On September 30th And October 1st, 2025
September 23, 2025- The government’s free Driver’s Rehabilitation Programme is set to take place in Tobago on Tuesday, September 30th, and Wednesday, October 1st, at the Milshirv Administrative Complex, following earlier sessions in Caroni.
Mandated by the 2017 Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, the initiative offers more than 700 previously disqualified drivers—under the now-defunct Demerit Points System—the opportunity to regain their licenses at no cost.
The programme comes amid concerning road safety statistics, including a sharp rise in fatalities early in 2025 and a 400% increase in deaths among motorcyclists. Over two days, participants will cover key topics designed to transform high-risk behaviour, promote responsible driving, and help curb the trend of road-related deaths.
Drivers interested in attending must register in advance through the Ministry’s online portal to secure their spot.
