Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds Says Government is Strengthening Efforts to Tackle Human Trafficking

Human trafficking, as defined by the United Nations, involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, or receipt of people through force, fraud, or deception for exploitation. The International Labour Organization reports 24.9 million victims worldwide. Trinidad and Tobago is not exempt from this issue. Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds addressed the country’s human trafficking challenges during a Senate debate on Tuesday, outlining the government’s strategies to combat the problem.
