June 11, 2024 – Antigua & Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne today announced the acquisition of an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) for the newly restructured LIAT 2020. This significant step marks a crucial milestone towards the airline’s return to the Caribbean skies.
However, despite this major regulatory achievement, progress for LIAT 2020 is being hindered by ongoing delays from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Prime Minister Browne’s comments highlight the persistent challenges in fully launching the regional airline, despite securing the necessary operational certification.
