Tourism secretary Tashia Burris leads seven-member delegation on I.D.B. Tour in the Bahamas.
Scarborough, Tobago – A delegation of seven participants from Tobago is in The Bahamas, attending an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Study Tour which runs from September 23rd to 27th, 2024.
Led by Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, Tashia Burris, the tour aims to strengthen the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Tourism, Investments, and Aviation. The tour’s primary focus is on destination crisis management, with participants reviewing The Bahamas’ tourism strategies and the operations of its Visitor Relations Unit. The delegation also includes representatives from the Office of the Chief Secretary, the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), and the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL).
The insights gained are expected to improve Tobago’s crisis management and visitor relations strategies, ultimately enhancing the island’s overall resilience.
