Scarborough, Tobago – October 23, 2024 – Former Chief Secretary, Orville London, was recognized for his contributions to the Tobago Hindu Community during Diwali celebrations at the Lowlands Mall. In 2014, the Hindu Society was given a plot of land opposite the Scarborough General Hospital, in Signal Hill, for the construction of a Hindu temple, a process that had been ongoing since 2009. The sod-turning ceremony on the land was held in 2022, and construction of the temple is now underway. His recognition highlights the long-standing collaboration between the political administration and the various religious and cultural groups in Tobago.
