First Points for FC Pheonix

Four games in, and 1976 FC Phoenix finally secured their first points in their debut season in the Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League. Tobago’s only Tier One team, FC Phoenix, welcomed Termix Rangers to the Dwight Yorke Stadium. The men from Canaan/Bon Accord Crown Point, buoyed by a decent home crowd, secured an eye-catching 4-0 win. Nigel De Souza’s men signaled their intention in the fifth minute when Michael Jem Gordon tapped in from close range. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Phoenix had to settle for a 1-0 halftime lead. The second period proved productive, with Adriel George scoring a looping header and Gordon providing assists. Coach De Souza was a happy man following the comprehensive win against last season’s fourth-placed team and beaten knockout finalist.
