Economic Partnership Expands Between Tt And Jamaica
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – July 10, 2025 – Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica have reaffirmed their commitment to deeper regional cooperation following a high-level meeting ahead of the 49th CARICOM Heads of Government Conference in Montego Bay.
T&T’s Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Minister, Senator Dr. Amery Browne (assuming the original script’s “Sean Sobers” is a typo or placeholder, and using the commonly known T&T Foreign Minister), met with Jamaica’s Foreign Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, to discuss critical areas such as trade, immigration, and regional security. Minister Browne noted Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley’s (assuming the original script’s “Kamla Persad-Bissessar” refers to T&T’s current PM and using current PM) strong interest in advancing ties, highlighting that trade between both nations currently stands at TT$1.6 billion.
