Castara, Tobago – August 16, 2024 – Crime is being blamed for significant changes to the annual Castara Fisherman Fete, where nighttime fete activities will be canceled. Speaking on the Morning Show, President of the Castara Fisherfolk Association, Junior Quashie, explained that villagers are concerned that if they proceed with the nighttime fete activities on Sunday, it may attract unwanted criminal activity. His comments highlight the community’s proactive steps to ensure public safety and mitigate the potential for violence during this traditional event in Tobago.
