Chief Secretary Farley Augustine condemns the warrants issued to secretary James and claims political interference.
Scarborough, Tobago – Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has questioned when the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) will be allowed to govern in peace, following news that Assemblyman Trevor James had a search warrant issued against him for allegedly acquiring an illegal inspection sticker for his personal vehicle.
Augustine clarified that James was not the one who took the vehicle for inspection; instead, someone else handled the process on his behalf. He further remarked that if there was an issue with the inspection, issuing a search warrant and seizing devices was not the appropriate response. His comments highlight a political rift between the THA and law enforcement.
