Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – The Minister of National Security hosted a press conference today about the nation’s rising crime rate. Commissioner of Police Erla Harewood-Christopher spoke about the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS)’s strategies for dealing with the upsurge in crime.
The Commissioner said that both Trinidad and Tobago have experienced an escalation in homicides and home invasions. She noted that before this escalation, the TTPS had intensified their initiatives to reduce violent crime across all police divisions. Her comments underscore the dynamic challenges faced by law enforcement in adapting to a rapidly changing criminal environment.
