The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) has approved a US$250,000 donation for Trinidad and Tobago to aid in mitigating the effects of a recent oil spill impacting Tobago’s coastline and its local tourism industry.
CAF expressed solidarity with the nation and pledged its support to address the environmental crisis through appropriate government channels. The donation was officially confirmed via a letter from CAF’s Executive President, Sergio Díaz-Granados, addressed to Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley.
Finance Minister Colm Imbert publicly expressed gratitude for CAF’s financial and moral support. CAF aims to assist Trinidad and Tobago in effectively addressing the spill’s impact and finding prompt, sustainable solutions for recovery.
