Scarborough, TobagoBago Jam is set to be an exceptional showcase of Trinidad and Tobago culture, perfectly timed to celebrate the nation’s Independence Day. Jared Prima, Film Director of the Tobago Performing Arts Company (TPAC), explains that this synergy is precisely why they chose to merge the official launch of Tobago Carnival with the celebration of Trinidad and Tobago’s 61st anniversary of Independence.

According to Prima, Thursday’s performances are designed to feature music catering to all age groups, ensuring the event is relatable and enjoyable for both younger and older generations. Prima further emphasized that Bago Jam provides a significant platform to spotlight the talents of young Tobagonians.

TPAC’s Director also highlighted the longstanding collaboration between the Festivals Commission and TPAC. Currently, the Festivals Commission is shouldering the majority of the responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of the Bago Jam event, underscoring their commitment to promoting national festivities.

Prima noted that hosting Bago Jam will also serve as an excellent opportunity for other promoters to present their own events in the lead-up to the main Tobago Carnival festivities. He further elaborated on the extensive plans that Bago Jam has in store for the upcoming carnival season, building excitement for what’s to come.

Mark your calendars: Tobago Carnival is officially scheduled for October 27th to the 29th.
