Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago officials, along with the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism, discussed concerns about overfishing of the Eastern Caribbean flying fish stock. Talks were said to be productive, focusing on collaborative research, a stock assessment, and a potential new fishing agreement. Both countries emphasized their commitment to sustainable resource use and maintaining open communication with fisherfolk. However the All Tobago Fisherfolk Association is disappointed about being excluded from those conversations. More from Kandace Jackson.
