Chief Secretary Farley Augustine said daily tests are done to ensure air quality remains safe in areas affected by the oil spill
Scarborough, Tobago – February 15, 2024 – Despite a high stench persisting in areas most affected by the recent oil spill in Tobago, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine confirmed that the air quality remains safe.
However, as a precautionary measure, schools in the directly impacted zones, namely Scarborough Secondary and Lambeau Anglican Primary, were to remain closed until further notice. The Chief Secretary announced that daily air quality tests would be conducted to continuously monitor and maintain safe levels for residents in the affected areas of Tobago.
