Whim, Tobago – June 19, 2024 – During a public consultation at the Whim Community Centre, residents highlighted various issues to the police, including the unavailability of police vehicles and a shortage of receipt books for making reports.
However, Member of Parliament for Tobago West and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister for Gender and Child Affairs, Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis, who was present, pointed out that while there may be some bureaucratic systems complicating these issues, there might also be underlying problems with resource management. Her comments emphasize the need for efficient allocation and utilization of resources within the police service to better serve the communities in Tobago.
