Scarborough, Tobago – February 27, 2024 – Dr. Denise Tsoiafatt-Angus, the political leader of the Innovative Democratic Alliance (IDA), has sharply criticized the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) administration. Her criticism stems from the alleged displacement of residents for the construction of the Friendship Connector Road.

Tsoiafatt-Angus highlighted what she described as the administration’s approach of “governing without regard for the law.” She emphasized that land acquisition falls squarely within the scope of parliamentary responsibilities, implying the THA may have overstepped its legal bounds in the process. Her comments underscore concerns about governance and legal adherence in Tobago’s infrastructure development.
