Scarborough, Tobago – [ January 2024] – The Tobago Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) officially launched its new logo and introduced its visionary team on Wednesday, marking a significant step for agricultural innovation on the island. The dedicated team is led by Secretary Nathisha Charles-Pantin, who heads the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, The Environment and Sustainable Development.
The TARI Committee, chaired by Ms. Alisha James, is set to revolutionize agriculture in Tobago. Its mission includes actively addressing critical challenges such as climate change, land degradation, and gender biases within the sector. TARI envisions a future where robust agricultural research drives sustainable development, fostering global participation and establishing strong institutional linkages.
The unveiling of TARI signals the beginning of a transformative journey towards inclusive and resilient agriculture in Tobago, aiming to enhance food security and environmental sustainability through science and collaboration.
