Scarborough, Tobago – Officers from the Tobago Division successfully seized 1.39 kg of marijuana and components of a firearm during an intelligence-led exercise conducted between December 23rd and 24th, 2023. This operation targeted key areas in the division, enhancing efforts to combat illegal activities.
The extensive exercise, which ran from 9 pm on December 23rd, 2023, to 1 am on December 24th, involved a collaborative effort from the Intelligence Patrol Unit, Guard and Emergency Branch, Scarborough CID, K9 Unit, and the Tobago Divisional Task Force. Acting on vital intelligence, officers proceeded to a bushy area off an unnamed roadway along All Fields Trace, Lowlands, where they conducted a thorough search.
The search unearthed a black plastic bag containing two brown rectangular packets, which held transparent packages with 1.39 kg of marijuana. Crucially, officers also discovered components of a firearm resembling a rifle within the same bag as the narcotics.
All seized items have been taken for further processing as PC Preudhomme continues enquiries into the matter. The successful operation was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Jackman, spearheaded by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Joseph, and supervised by Inspector Forbes, Corporals Wallace and Johnson, and PC Phillip. This bust highlights the ongoing commitment of the TTPS Tobago Division to crime deterrence and detection on the island.
