When preparing the house for the Christmas season, waiting for the holiday rush or hoping for that elusive “free time” might not be realistic. Nevertheless, according to cleaning expert Joyann Bonaparte-Bowles, prioritizing tasks with a strategic cleaning plan can truly be a game-changer for many households.
Bonaparte-Bowles explained that while preparation and cleaning take place within the household, two main areas that demand extra attention during the Christmas cleaning are the kitchen and the bathroom. The market is flooded with various types of cleaning supplies, which could be overwhelming, but Bonaparte-Bowles highlighted easily accessible products that simplify the cleaning process.
She also explained that a very common and affordable product found in most kitchens can be helpful. “You can even use vinegar to clean your windows, right? You wash your clothes, wipe your windows, and take your jay cloth, or what people use is their gauze and paper, and shine your windows, and you get that. So I don’t use any products that, you know, sometimes that you can’t always get, so you use more basic products that are on it every day shelf.“
Bonaparte-Bowles urged anyone still needing to do their Christmas cleaning to use her signature streamlined plan: start with the kitchen, followed by the living room, after which the bedrooms can be tackled, saving the bathroom for the last phase of the cleaning.
