The Milford Road Esplanade Limited (MREL) is making strides in recovering debt from tenants in arrears. According to a press release, since September 2024, eight tenants entered payment plans, but legal action was necessary to evict two and recover outstanding rents from two others. In under six months, MREL successfully removed one evicted tenant. On February 20th, 2025, MREL secured judgments against two debtors, totaling over $24,000.00 and $23,000.00 respectively. MREL said these legal victories will ensure the recovery of outstanding funds, which will be reinvested into the upkeep and development of the Esplanade, supporting its vision to be a hub of socio-economic activities for the benefit of Tobago’s economy and its stakeholders.
