One of Tobago’s most renowned steel pan bands, Katzenjammers, has once again claimed the top spot at the Medium Conventional Bands Finals. This marks their third consecutive victory, earning a total of 281 points with their performance of “Lying Excuses,” a song written by calypsonian Mighty Sparrow and arranged by Kersh Ramsey. Securing second place was Pan Elders Steel Orchestra, whose rendition of “Mi Lover” earned them 279 points, trailing by just two points. Tied for third place with 275 points each were NGC Couva Joylanders with their performance of “Cut The Bush” and Pamberi Steel Orchestra with their rendition of “Too On Way.” The competition saw the attendance of several distinguished guests, including Member of Parliament for Tobago West, Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, and Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Randall Mitchell.
