October 25, 2024 – McCartha Linda Sandy Lewis, widely known as Calypso Rose, was celebrated as one of Tobago’s icons during a ceremony hosted by the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) on the Scarborough Esplanade. The Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development honored several individuals by renaming various areas around the island in recognition of their contributions to Tobago’s development. During the event, Calypso Rose shared her personal experiences and expressed what the initiative meant to her. This honor is part of a broader effort to recognize and immortalize the contributions of key figures who have shaped the island’s culture and heritage.
