Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – The Ministry of Health is reporting 58 new dengue cases between July 20th and July 23rd, bringing the total for 2024 to 450 confirmed cases across Trinidad and Tobago. The previous case count on July 20th stood at 392.
The number of dengue-related deaths remains at four, with the most recent fatality confirmed. In Tobago, one confirmed case has been reported so far. Minister of Health, Terrance Deyalsingh, stressed that state agencies are working collaboratively to reduce the mosquito population. He urged the public to clear any sources of standing water on their premises, emphasizing that preventing mosquito breeding is crucial in controlling the spread of the dengue virus.
