Scarborough, Tobago – October 2, 2024 – While economists and experts analyze the measures in Monday’s (September 30, 2024) national budget, Martin George, Chairman of the Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, is calling for more focus on improving the ease of doing business.
According to the World Bank, Trinidad and Tobago ranks 105th globally in this area. Despite Finance Minister Colm Imbert repeatedly mentioning initiatives like TTBizLink as improvements, George insists that the experience remains frustrating for business owners. His comments underscore the private sector’s demand for a more efficient and less bureaucratic environment to foster economic growth and create a more competitive market in Trinidad and Tobago.
