The national budget will be read on October 2nd. The announcement came via press release from Finance Minister Colm Imbert. Last week, the cabinet held a three-day retreat to discuss plans for the national budget. In 2022, Minister Imbert presented a budget of $57.685 billion, resulting in a $1.51 billion deficit. On Thursday, the Prime Minister mentioned a drop in earnings from the energy sector, hinting at forthcoming changes to the national budget and its impact on foreign exchange reserves.
Experts predict an increase in the minimum wage. Meanwhile, the THA hopes to secure the full $4.54 billion requested. They were allocated $2.521 billion last year.
