Scarborough, Tobago – October 8, 2024 – The White-tailed Sabrewing Hummingbird is a species native to Tobago and northern Venezuela. However, little data exists about these birds. Through the BIOREACH project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), birders in Tobago are being trained in bird banding. This initiative is expected to help gather data needed to protect this environmentally sensitive species, ensuring its survival and providing crucial information for conservationists.
