Bird-banding training
Birders in Tobago receive training on bird-banding for recording data on white-tailed Sabrewing Hummingbird.
The White-tailed Sabrewing Hummingbird is a species native to Tobago and northern Venezuela. However, little data exists about these birds. Through the BIOREACH project, funded by the Global Environment Fund (GEF), birders in Tobago are being trained in bird banding, which is expected to help gather data needed to protect this environmentally sensitive species.
