State Needs to Do Their Job

Members of Parliament for Tobago East and West, and government senators have repeatedly defended the government’s handling of inter-island transportation. However, the Tobago Division Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Curtis Williams believes they are not paying attention to the problems on the ground.

Vice-Chairman Demi-John said they are tired of advocating for the ease of doing business in Tobago. The disruptions in cargo shipment between Trinidad and Tobago over the past three weeks caused the Chamber to call for an urgent multi-stakeholder meeting with the government.

The Chamber is also calling on the THA to settle all outstanding bills with the private sector as soon as possible. The Prime Minister, Minister of Works and Transport, and several other key stakeholders are expected to be in Tobago early next week for a special meeting.
