Pay taxes or miss out on government tenders

Finance Minister Colm Imbert warns business owners to pay outstanding taxes and N.I.S. during tax amnesty or else they will not be considered for government tenders.

Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Finance Minister Colm Imbert has issued a strong warning to the public. He stated that citizens who fail to pay their taxes risk missing out on government contracts. The Minister made this announcement in Parliament as he introduced a new bill for a tax amnesty.

This amnesty was made retroactive from October 1st to December 31st, 2024. It covers all taxes, including property tax and NIS payments. The initiative provides a chance for taxpayers to clear their outstanding obligations and avoid future penalties and restrictions on their ability to secure government work.
