Standing parade marks remembrance day celebrations at James Park

The Remembrance Day celebration was marked with a standing parade, described by PRO of the Tobago Branch of the Royal Ex-Services, Dave Elliot, as intense. A solemn occasion brought together the protective and military services in a show of honor to veterans who fought in defense of the country during World War I and II. The event also included members of the unarmed detachment, such as the Boy Scouts, Pathfinders, and Girl Guides. At the official start of the parade, sentries took their positions guarding the cenotaph. A band, consisting of members from the Pathfinders, Boys Brigade, and the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force, accompanied the parade in unison. The moment was marked by detachments lining the perimeter of James Park to pay homage. Chief Secretary Farley Augustine laid the first wreath in remembrance of fallen veterans, followed by members of the armed and unarmed forces. The event culminated with the national anthem of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and a call for young people to show interest in serving their country.
