Scarborough, Tobago – August 20, 2024 – Removing Christopher Columbus’s ships from the national coat of arms and replacing them with the steelpan was fully endorsed by Pan Trinbago President Beverley Ramsey-Moore.

Addressing the issue on the Tobago Updates Morning Show, Ramsey-Moore stated that the proposed change seeks to unify citizens and fill them with pride. This endorsement from the leader of the national steelpan organization highlights the cultural significance of the proposal and its potential to foster a stronger sense of national identity in Trinidad and Tobago.
