Scarborough, Tobago – August 13, 2024 – A family was left distressed following an alleged altercation with police officers on Saturday morning (August 10, 2024). According to the family’s account, the morning began when officers arrived at their home under circumstances that remain unclear. The woman claimed that at about 2:00 AM, Police officers broke down the door to their home, aiming their guns at them and then proceeded to handcuff her husband.
She further alleged that her husband was taken outside and, upon his return, she noted that his face was swollen, purportedly from being beaten. The altercation reportedly escalated when Police officers allegedly verbally assaulted the woman and her two children. Tobago Updates reached out to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) for comment on the matter, but all our efforts proved futile, with no statement being provided by the authorities.
