Scarborough, Tobago – March 2024 – The Tobago Empowerment Alliance Mission has made a crucial donation to support the ongoing oil spill response effort on the island. This act of assistance provides much-needed resources for the teams working to mitigate the environmental impact.
The Mission specifically donated essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Tyvek coveralls, respirator masks, and individual gloves, all vital for the safety of responders engaged in the demanding oil spill cleanup.
The Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), which is coordinating the extensive clean-up efforts, expressed profound gratitude for the support received from the Tobago Empowerment Alliance Mission. According to TEMA, such donations from the private sector are invaluable, as they ensure that responders can now work with enhanced safety and efficiency, leading to a more effective overall response to the Tobago oil spill. This community and private sector involvement is crucial for the island’s recovery.
