The 8th Annual Tobago Day was a great opportunity for members of the Tobago diaspora to come together and celebrate our island. Events like these often help to foster a sense of community and connection among people with the same shared cultural backgrounds.
In attendance was Trinidad and Tobago’s Counsel General to New York, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, Assemblyman Trevor James, Tobago’s Junior Secretary for Tourism and Junior Minister for Tourism as well as the reigning Miss Tobago Heritage personality queen.
Augustine stated that investing in Tobago can take various forms, depending on your interests and goals. He addressed the diaspora, emphasising that collaborating with local experts, conducting market research, and exploring sustainable investment options can ensure a positive impact on both investments and the Tobago community.
He emphasised that joining forces with expertise, investment, and innovative ideas can significantly contribute to Tobago’s growth and development. Augustine believes that the collaborative efforts will enhance sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, and sustainability, and local businesses are poised to elevate Tobago into an even more exceptional destination. The celebrations continued with cultural activities and performances including Lord Nelson.
