Tobago Mas Bandleaders Protest Reduced Prizes, Grants And Late Planning For Carnival
As promised, the Tobago Mas Bandleaders protested what they believe to be unfair treatment towards those striving to preserve the island’s traditional carnival. They expressed dissatisfaction with the reduced budget, cutting prizes and grants, coupled with delayed planning. They also addressed Tobagonians criticizing the quality of their mas. Kandace Jackson was on the scene of the protest outside the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities, and Transportation in Sangster’s Hill, and has the report.
