October 15, 2025- Plans to modernize Tobago’s key commercial and tourism hubs—the Scarborough Redevelopment Project and the Store Bay Redevelopment Project—have been delayed due to financial limitations.
These initiatives, which have been in the works for over two years, are designed to enhance infrastructure, stimulate commerce, and elevate the island’s tourism appeal. However, progress has been slow as funding constraints have prevented construction and implementation from moving forward.
Petal-Ann Roberts, Secretary of Finance, Trade and the Economy, expressed optimism that with renewed financial support, both projects could soon resume. She emphasized that these developments are critical for Tobago’s long-term growth and the continued advancement of its communities.
