200 applicants turned up for the Tobago leg of the TT Defence Force (TTDF) recruitment drive

The drive hosted on Monday and Tuesday at the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI) in Blenheim, Mt St George targeted candidates aged 18-25.

Blenheim, Tobago – January 2024 – The Tobago leg of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) recruitment drive successfully attracted a total of 200 applicants, signaling strong local interest in military careers.

The drive was hosted on Monday, January 22nd, and Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI) in Blenheim, Mt St George. This recruitment initiative specifically targeted candidates aged 18 to 25.

The assessment process ran over a two-day period. On day one (January 22nd), applicants with surnames starting with A-L were accommodated for initial screening, while those with surnames M-Z were processed on the second day (January 23rd). Following the initial screening, candidates proceeded to sit a written exam on Tuesday, January 23rd, and Wednesday, January 24th, at the Tobago Information and Technology Centre in Signal Hill. These stages were to be followed by physical exams and interviews, completing the comprehensive recruitment process.

This robust turnout and structured assessment highlight the TTDF’s efforts to recruit diverse talent from across the nation, including the sister isle, for service in the armed forces.
