Turning Tobago Carnival Rhythm Into Revenue…

As Tobago marks the fifth anniversary of its standalone October Carnival, island authorities and tourism planners are making a deliberate policy shift to transform the annual cultural showcase from a seasonal street celebration into a sustainable, year-round economic engine and employment generator.

Speaking from the launch of the 2026 Carnival season at Pigeon Point Heritage Park, Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, Zorisha Hackett, underscored that the festival has grown beyond cultural pageantry. It is now being leveraged as a strategic vehicle for the orange economy—driving youth employment, creative entrepreneurship, and long-term economic resilience across the island.
