TTPS to Boost Visibility in Tobago to Tackle Crime, Says Sgt. Jordan

August 25, 2025 – Sergeant Joseph Jordan of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has announced plans to increase police visibility across Tobago in an effort to further reduce crime and strengthen public safety.

Speaking on the Tobago Updates Morning Show, Sgt. Jordan provided an overview of crime statistics for the Tobago Division, noting a drop in serious reported crimes (SRCs) when comparing 2024 to 2025. A total of 481 SRCs were recorded for the period, a figure he described as encouraging.

He credited the downward trend to consistent police work and increased collaboration with members of the public. “Our progress is a direct result of partnership. The public’s role in providing information continues to be vital,” he said.

To maintain momentum, the TTPS will be ramping up its presence in high-traffic and high-risk areas across the island. Sgt. Jordan highlighted breaking and entering as a persistent issue, despite overall improvements, and said targeted patrols and visibility could help deter offenders.

He urged residents to share information anonymously with the police, assuring that identities will be protected. “Your tips help us find the criminals who try to hide in plain sight,” he added.
