The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) Tobago Division, alongside the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) and key emergency response stakeholders, has activated a comprehensive safety operation tailored to manage the heavy influx of race enthusiasts, spectators, and domestic commuters.

The coordinated multi-agency framework focuses on proactive crime suppression, maritime safety, and orderly vehicular flow across major transit routes and coastal event hubs. Multi-Tiered Safety and Surveillance Measures

Law enforcement officials outlined key tactical measures active throughout the holiday weekend:

  • Land and Traffic Management: Mobile grid patrols, strategic checkpoints, and randomized breathalyzer exercises are deployed along major arteries—including the Claude Noel Highway and Milford Road—to deter reckless driving, speeding, and driving under the influence.
