March 21, 2025 – The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), in collaboration with the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), hosted an expo at Port Mall earlier today in observance of World Meteorological Day, which is traditionally celebrated on March 20. Carolin Decoteau, Meteorologist II and the Tobago Operational Meteorological Services Division manager highlighted this year’s theme: “Closing the Early Warning Gaps.” She emphasised the significance of TTMS’s partnership with TEMA in ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of weather-related information to the public, particularly in emergencies. She also emphasized that public education is a crucial step in ensuring that officials in Trinidad and Tobago are well-prepared to respond to natural disasters and mitigate the loss of lives.
