May 13, 2025 – The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) confirms that Trinidad and Tobago has a chairmanship role in its Board of Directors, following the board’s 184th meeting in Santiago, Chile, on March 27. This announcement was made during a high-level meeting on May 12, 2025, between new Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo and senior CAF officials at the Ministry of Finance Head Office in Port of Spain. For the past thirty years, CAF has been Trinidad and Tobago’s primary multilateral development partner, supporting key national projects through loan financing and technical assistance. Minister Tancoo was joined by Permanent Secretary Suzette Taylor-Lee Chee and Senior Debt Analyst Jimmy Wong. Representing CAF were T&T Director Representative Bernardo Requena, Caribbean Regional Manager Stacy Kennedy-Richards, and Principal Executive Stephanie Ledesma.
