September 4, 2025- The Tobago Regional Health Authority marked a significant step in maternal and child health with a ceremony on August 29 at the Learning Resource Centre, Scarborough General Hospital. The event celebrated the soft launch of the Secretary’s Baby Box Initiative, which provides new mothers with a box of essential items to support their babies during the first month of life.
The ceremony also featured the unveiling of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative Accreditation Plaque, recognizing the hospital’s commitment to promoting breastfeeding and maternal care. Hospital staff, parents, and guests gathered to honor these important milestones aimed at improving health outcomes for mothers and newborns in Tobago.
