Tobago to Showcase Steelpan Artistry at Official Panorama Launch

August 8, 2025 – The vibrant rhythms of the steelpan are set to reverberate across Tobago as the island prepares for the official launch of the Tobago House of Assembly’s Panorama and Steelpan Jamboree. The event, which kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, August 9th, at 7 PM on the Scarborough Esplanade, is a major highlight of Steelpan Month 2025 and a key initiative for promoting pan tourism.

Pan Trinbago president Beverley Ramsey-Moore has hailed this year’s events as a significant step in the global ascendancy of the national instrument. The launch features a star-studded line-up, including a guest performance by the renowned calypsonian Johnny King, and an array of top-tier steelbands. Among them is the 2025 Medium Band Champion, Tobago’s own Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra, which secured its third consecutive title with a winning score of 281 points. This free event promises a showcase of steelpan artistry.
