Tobago Regional Police Service: Martin George Urges Regional Corporation Model for Tobago Police Force

Scarborough, Tobago – June 10, 2024 – Following the announcement of Chief Secretary Farley Augustine’s plan of establishing a police force within the Assembly, the President of the Tobago Business Chamber, Martin George, said that this proposed police force must follow the lines of the regional corporations in Trinidad.

George also suggested specific measures that should be implemented at the island’s ports of entry to effectively reduce crime in Tobago. His comments highlight the ongoing debate regarding the structure and implementation of a localized police force and border security strategies to enhance public safety on the island.
